RECESSION AMERICA: DISTRICTS IN 14 STATES MOVE TO 4-DAY SCHOOLWEEK




According to CNN news, school districts in 14 states are in the process of instituting 4-day school weeks. The move is an effort to preserve energy and fuel in this time of economic hardship. Critics claim that the reduction in school days will adversely effect the education of children in this country. School officials say that they just don't have enough in the budget to continue business as usual and believes that students won't be academically shortchanged. This will be a very interesting issue once it comes above groung.
