Mike's Death Ruled a Homicide

Michael Jackson's death, according to court documents, has been ruled a homicide. The paperwork lists a deadly mixture of drugs that may have caused him heart failure. Unfortunately Dr. Conrad Murray has become a victim of Jackson's celebrity and is recieving death threats, not to mention a dark cloud of possible legal action (i.e. an indictment) over his head. Millions believe he is responsible for Jackson's death despite Mike's reported history of addiction. Larry King's blog question of the evening was "Who was responsible for the propfol in Michael Jackson's system; Conrad Murray or Michael Jackson." And while it is highly possible that a jury will have weigh that question heavily, only God knows the entire truth. What is for certain is that we have lost one of the most unique, talented and giving human beings to walk the face of this earth in our lifetime, along with one of our most brilliant physicians. Being from Houston, I did not know Dr. Murray personally but I know many that he has helped out of life or death situations. Unfortunately, this one patient that he "lost" may forever overshadow all the ones that he has saved. It's a situation where nobody wins except someone have the brilliance of mind to use this controversial tragedy as teachable moment for young people about how drugs (I dont' care if it's propofol or cocaine) can destroy the lives of even the most powerful among us. Let's be real...what likely happened between Dr. Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson happens in the hood every day on one level; and it happens in the medical community every day on another level. My mother, who was once addicted to drugs, had a regular "doctor" too. That doctor was everybody's doctor. While he was THE virtual drug dealer in our community, I never blamed him for my mom's addiction. I know that this is an unfair comparison, because my mother is living and has since overcome her addiction and is now a drug counselor. She uses that chapter in her life to counsel others to avoid writing it in theirs. I think that somebody should do the same with all this Michael Jackson business. And while the laws in this country are designed to bury the little crack dealer underneath the jail, the "propofol dealers" in this country continue their "wine and cheese" lifestyle. I ain't trying to get on no soapbox...I'm just sayin' though.
