Activists, Black Firefighters Respond to Graffiti Written Death Threats Against Female Firefighters

The Houston Black Firefighters Association parking lot was packed with media and community representatives trying make sense of racially derogatory death threats made against two female firefighters in the form of graffiti this morning. Myself and HBFFA President Otis Jordan voiced our concern for the safety of these females and called on city leadership to do the job of securing a non-threatening work environment for it's workers. Jordan gave Mayor Bill White an "F" regarding race relations and stated that if Capt. Keith Smith had recieved a just punishment for havin a hangman's noose on HFD property, maybe others would not feel so comfortable in committing such acts. There will be a massive rally held on the steps of City Hall at 12 noon of July 28th to call attention to and organize in protest to this kind of hatred. We hope to see you there!!
